Short answer: Mission Travel Faith Tours is a Christian owned and operated tour company that serves churches wherever they are. We plan private, customized church group tours to the Holy Land, the Footsteps of Paul in Greece and Turkey, the Seven Churches of Revelation, the Footsteps of Moses in Egypt and Jordan, Reformation sites in Europe, and faith-based cruises, for groups from about 10 travelers to 500.
Pastors ask me a fair question all the time: why does it matter which tour company you choose? It matters because a church trip is a long relationship, not a single booking. You will have questions on a Tuesday night before an information meeting. Your treasurer will want a clear payment schedule. A deacon will call about his knee. You want a team that knows your group by name, and you want a ground team overseas who knows the sites well enough to slow down and let your people worship.
What we do for church groups
- Design the itinerary around your church. Every private group tour is built from scratch around your sermon series, your season, your budget, and how fast your people can walk.
- Handle the details. Hotels, private transfers, sightseeing, English-speaking local guides, entrance fees, and daily breakfast are part of every tailor-made group tour. We can also help coordinate your group's flights.
- Travel with you. Groups of 20 or more are accompanied by one of our tour managers, and our team is on call 24/7 while you are traveling.
- Reward the people who lead. For every 20 paid travelers, one spot is free, which many churches use for the pastor or group leader.
Where church groups usually go
- Israel and the Holy Land: Jerusalem, Galilee, Nazareth, and the Jordan River, often with Jordan or Egypt added.
- Footsteps of Paul: Athens, Corinth, Thessaloniki, and Philippi in Greece, Ephesus in Turkey, and cruise options that include Patmos.
- Seven Churches of Revelation: western Turkey, with Patmos, Cappadocia, or Rome as extensions.
- Footsteps of Moses: the Exodus route through Egypt, Mount Sinai, and on to Jordan and Israel.
- Reformation and church history: Martin Luther in Germany, Tyndale and Wycliffe in England, the Wesleys and C.S. Lewis, St. Patrick in Ireland, and a Christian heritage route from Berlin to London that traces Luther, John Knox, and Charles Spurgeon.
Questions pastors ask before they call
Does it matter where our church is located?
No. Our office is in Orlando, and we plan group tours for churches from many places. Every planning step can happen by phone and email.
How big does our group need to be?
Private custom tours start at about 10 travelers and go up to 500. Discounts grow as your group grows. Smaller parties can also travel privately, or join other groups on select departures.
Will we have a Christian guide?
Many of our guides are Christians, but that is not guaranteed. Every guide we use knows our devotional, scriptural, and historical expectations, and your pastor leads the worship and teaching.
How fast will we hear back?
Send your request and a group destination specialist will contact you within two business days. If you want to talk sooner, call the office.
What should we have ready for the first call?
A rough headcount, two or three possible travel seasons, the destination or theme on your heart, and a sense of your budget. That is enough for us to build a first written outline.
